Vincent Bacon

Instructor Vincent Bacon

Vincent has been training and teaching martial arts for over 20 years, the last 6 studying Hapkido. Originally training in Taekwondo with Mr Jack Rozinsky, he attained the level of 3rd Degree black belt (World Taekwondo Federation). He also studied a traditional Ju-Jitsu style for 10 years.

He has also trained in Wing Chun Kung Fu & Western boxing and has held accreditations in Taekwondo, Wing Chun Kung Fu, Boxercise and Sports Training. He works as a qualified Intensive Care Nurse.

Vincent chose to teach Australian Hapkido Association Hapkido because, of all the arts he has experienced, it is the only traditional martial art which teaches a complete range of skills covering the full range of striking, grappling and weapon techniques. Vincent also appreciates the AHA's modern approach and how AHA Hapkido combines aspects of both a "hard" and "soft" style martial art, including the non-physical aspects of martial arts training.

Debbie Martin

Instructor Debbie Martin

Debbie is an instructor at the Melbourne Hapkido Centre and is one of the very first women in Victoria to hold a black belt in Hapkido. She is also the Australian Hapkido Association's 2004 Senior Women's Sparring champion.

Debbie has an extensive and varied instructional background including holding the rank of Captain in the Australian Army and instructing at both the Army Recruit Training School and Royal Military College, Duntroon. Debbie has conducted women's self-defence classes for Victorian TAFE and currently works in the area of disaster and terrorism readiness.

Debbie hopes to encourage more women to consider taking up martial arts like Hapkido, as she believes martial arts are not just an activity for very young people but a skill for life enhancing a person's health, fitness, self-confidence and discipline.
