WOMEN’S SELF DEFENCE COURSE

We have run this course which is close to our hearts for over a decade

Over many years, we have worked with amazing women of all ages, backgrounds and experiences who have decided to learn practical self defence principles while developing a mindset that empowers and builds resilience.

During this 6-week course, we will cover a range of techniques and more importantly develop a mindset to be able to identify, avoid and escape threats or attacks. You will develop how to respond rather than react and how to be mindful, focused and aware instead of being a victim.

Whilst the focus is on avoidance or escape, you must be be able to escalate your physical response should the situation require it and do so aggressively. Your life may depend on it and we work on developing a survival mindset to do this.

Learn practical, effective and easily deployable techniques

These strategies will help you deal with a range of threats and attacks from the front, the side or behind whether standing, seated or on the ground against:

  • grabs and holds, e.g. headlocks, bear hugs, hair, hand, arm

  • strikes e.g. kicks, punches

  • chokes and strangles

  • edged weapons, e.g. knives (realistic defence techniques aimed at minimising harm to you and focusing on escaping)

We develop and drill the mindset, attitude, awareness and how it translates to a physical response

Situational Awareness

This is observing and interpreting your surroundings and setting, threat assessment, and identifying potential assistance. e.g. improvised weapons, escape routes
